The College has its roots in correspondence schooling from the 1930s onwards and took its present form in 1977. Since 1997 it has occupied the six-floor building of Parliament House, opposite Selfridges in Oxford Street and in 2004 took over the former training facility of Marks and Spencer in Manchester Street, called Hannah House which the College occupies with it’s sister school, British Study Centres School of English. West London College is a member of the British Study Centres -www.britishstudy.org Group of Colleges in the U.K.
West London College is centrally located in Mayfair, one of the most affluent parts of the city. WLC has a total student body of 1,500 full-time and 500 part-time students. WLC's neighbours include Selfridges department store, which is opposite the College, the BBC, innumerable embassies, some of the world's most famous hotels, and of course Buckingham Palace!
West London College is fully accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education www.the-bac.org and officially licensed to offer the academic programmes of a number of British universities and examination boards.
All courses lead to Degrees awarded by well recognized and top-ranking British Universities such as the University of Greenwich, Heriot-Watt University, Bournemouth University and the University of East London. Under the new Post-study work scheme, all students completing the Bachelors or Masters Degrees at West London College will be entitled and privileged to work full-time for a period of 2 years in the UK.
Full time programmes are offered in the following subject areas: Business, Computing, Fashion, Tourism and Hotel Management. The Foundation Diploma in Fashion Design course leads to a 3 year Bachelors (Hons) Degree awarded by the University of East London. In 2008 successfull WLC Fashion students have gained places at the London College of Fashion and the University of the Creative Arts.

For the popular 2 year intensive Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA), 18 Months Masters in Business Administration (MBA), MSc. in Marketing and the MSc. in Financial Management the degrees are awarded by Heriot-Watt University. The International Tourism and Hospitality Management programmes lead to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Hons) Degree awarded by Bournemouth University. The British Computer Society (BCS) computing programme leads to a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in Computing awarded by the University of Greenwich.
The Global Education and Training Centre in Colombo-03, Sri Lanka , is a fully authorized student counseling and recruitment representative / agent of West London College and has been successfully assisting and counseling Sri Lankan students in securing admission and in student visa documentation and procedures guidance since 2002.

The course intakes for undergraduate courses are usually held in January, June and September / October every year, and for the Heriot-Watt University BBA and the post-graduate courses (MBA, MSc. in Marketing and MSc. in Financial Management) in January and July each year.
