The next IELTS General and Academic Module Test Preparation 3 months (10 - 12 weeks) duration group class (batch 39) is scheduled to commence on Saturday 28th of August 2010 from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. The total course fees of Rs. 12,000/- can now be paid in two equal installments of Rs. 6,000/- (inclusive of all course materials and 15 Audio CD's). A 30 minute presentation about the IELTS and the benefits of taking the IELTS Test at the British Council will be conducted free of charge by the British Council staff on Saturday the 27th of February at 10.00 a.m. at the Global Education and Training Centre in Colombo 03. The Global Education and Training Centre (GETC) celebrated its 8th anniversary on Saturday the 30th of January 2010. The GETC was established on Thursday the 30th of January 2002 in Colombo 03, Sri Lanka.
In December 2009, the Global Education and Training Centre has become an IELTS Registration Centre for the British Council in Sri Lanka. As such, we are now authorized to accept IELTS Test registrations from candidates for the British Council's IELTS exam venues in Colombo and Kandy.

Chandima got the highest individual band score of an 8.5 out of 9.0 for the Listening module, and a 7.5 for (out of 9.0) for the Reading module. The other student is Mr. Thilina Mahendralal Rajapakse who scored an overall band score of 7.5 (seven point five) for the IELTS General Module test held on the 21st of November 2009 with an 8.5 band (out of 9.0) for the Listening module.
